OASIS RANCH MANAGEMENT, INC. was formed on March 21, 1990 for the purpose of professional farm management services to growers of citrus, dates and grape in the Coachella Valley area of Riverside County and Borrego Valley area of San Diego County, California.
Back in 1990, our scope of work included the professional management of 15 individual ranches which accounted for 1,066 acres. On a daily basis, we would tend to the irrigation, pest control, weed control, tractor work, and all normal cultural practices necessary to grow quality citrus, grapes and medjool dates.
Several years ago, some of our ranches were using flood irrigation. One of the ideas which we recognized as a benefit for our growers and the people of this valley is the conservation of water. We converted several ranches from flood to micro-drip irrigation. Additionally, we supervised and oversaw the development of new ranches, removal and replacement of older trees with new young plantings, packing house recommendations and harvesting the bounty of our labor.
More recently, we have focused energies and efforts meeting governmental regulations and reporting requirements efficiently. It seemed that more and more time and effort is being spent on providing the necessary disclosures documents to governmental agencies. We utilize state of the art computer systems for tracking and reporting necessary documents. Our computer system reports via modem to mainframe computers at the Employment Development Department, Internal Revenue Service and soon the Agriculture Commissioner for Riverside county.
We continue to upgrade and update our system as new reporting procedures are introduced. Several owners of citrus ranches here in the Coachella Valley have utilized our services to manage their ranch. We provide the experience, expertise and manpower to allow the owners peace of mind when it comes to "who's managing the farm". They trust and rely on us and we will not disappoint them. Presently (April of 2001), our management company handles over 2,500 acres and 32 ranches.
We know it is important for our company to provide a good solid return to the grower for their investment. Keeping cost down is one of our primary focuses for the company. Another primary focus is producing an excellent quality product. This equates to quality grapefruit, tangerines, lemon, grapes and medjool dates for the consumer along with a good return to the grower.
